The professional staff at Bobtown serves as educational and technical support for the studio potters. Clarence Hayes and Philip Wiggs combine their decades of ceramic experience in order to design and build kilns and organize community firings. Both focus on glaze chemistry, experimentation with salt and soda firing, and collaborate in kiln design and sustainable fuels.
As mentors to college students and interns, they help young potters achieve a holistic experience in the studio by providing opportunities in glaze pallets, firing modes, and in exploring and mastering basic forms.
Their roles include maintenance and expansion of facilities and growing teaching and community opportunities for local artists.
Loreal Bell serves as creative associate and research support for expanding the arts.
Vicky Hayes serves as administrative and hospitality support for the interns and community potters.
